The Old World - Warriors & Heroes - Complete Online Rule Book

Leveling
Attributes Skills & Experience
Players will gain experience points from both combat and quests. The GM will decide the awarding of experience; however, all monsters will have set amounts of experience points they give to players.
As players adventure they will gain experience points. These points will allow players to level up and advance their characters. Each level-up will grant players: 2 Attribute Points, 6 Skill Points, 5 Points HP, 2 Ability Points
The maximum level is 30. Players start at level 1. Should a player reach 30 points in a skill line that would then be above 30 points with Attribute bonuses, those points are refunded and may be spent in other skills.
When players reach level 30 they no longer gain 2 Attribute Points , 6 Skill Points, 5 Points HP, and 3 Ability Points. Instead, they will only gain 2 Ability Points. Experience requirements scale up significantly after level 10 slowing progress. Players should consider their early choices carefully as it may be a long time before they reach the higher levels.
Players can be awarded additional experience points any time they complete a task of significance. For example: if the players carefully negotiate a difficult situation without combat, or solve a difficult puzzle without any mistakes, the GM may choose to award them a reasonable amount of experience.
The generosity of the experience points will be dependent on the GM, but in general players should earn at least some points each session.
Each level-up will grant players:
2 Attribute Points, 6 Skill Points,
5 Points HP, 2 Ability Points
